Major Catch up

Wow! My blog is dusty! I knew it had been a while since my last update, but after logging in I can't believe its been over 2 months! Doh! It's been so busy over here, and I have been loving it. Here is a quick recap of the past couple of months to get us back on track...

-Auntie Kiki came to Austin for a quick visit. She brought Reid a donut rattle. Its true love.

-We loaded up the car and took our first road trip to Dallas to spend Easter weekend with the Tucker crew.
-The next week Reid earned his airplane wings on our trip to Cali to see the GVZs. I got to hold and squeeze Louis for the first time and he completely melted my heart. Norah was so amazing I can't even describe how funny and smart this kid is every single day. It was a week full of adventures to Target, Discovery Health TV shows, brushing hair, Chinese food and the ultimate food poisoning event of 2011. Check out Janet's blog for the details about our unfortunate family BBQ our last day in Cali. Here is the pic I sent to Janet before we boarded the plane to Austin and my food poisoning hell began. Ha.

-Celebrated my first Mother's Day with Reid and Mark back in Austin under the covers of my bed. The California food poisoning incident knocked me out. We made up for a few weeks later with a great day spent with the fam and my three special boys (Riley totally counts)

-Our hell continued when I woke up few days after Mother's Day to Mark puking over the toilet. Unbelievable. Whatever contagious bacteria or virus that caused our food poisoning attacked Mark as well. Our house was a cloud of germs, and all our meals consisted of jello and crackers for over a week. We were truly disgusting.

-In late May, Reid said hello to real food! And this boy can eat. On the menu these days is homemade purees of squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes and rice cereal. He loves every last bite.

-Reid is still having problems with his skin. He had a bad eczema flare up that landed us back in the pediatrician's office several times. It seems to affect his belly, back, neck, and behind his little knees the most. We decided to do a blood test to check for food allergies that he is digesting through my breast milk.

Its really uncommon to conduct this test on an infant, and the accuracy rate is only 60% at Reid's age, but we decided any information regarding the cause of these outbreaks would be beneficial. We got the results and everything came back normal. Its great news, but still leaves us without any answers.

So the next step was to start round 2 of a full elimination diet for me for 2 weeks. No dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, citrus, bananas, tomatoes, corn, peanuts. We ate a lot of rice, chicken and veggies. Everyday. Now each week I reintroduce one food at a time, and monitor Reid's skin for any reaction. So far, its appears that eggs may be our culprit, but I am still reintroducing foods for the next several weeks. So we shall see. I feel so bad for our little guy.

-One perk of this crazy elimination diet is that I lost the last few pounds of my pregnancy weight. Holla!!

-Mark spent a week in LA at the huge E3 conference demoing his new game - Crimson Alliance. All his hard work and long hours is finally all coming together. He spent a lot of time talking to press about the game, and the coverage has been outstanding. Woot! It will officially launch late summer. Go Mark go!

Oh there is so much more to share, but I will now get on posting Reid's 5 and 6 month pics. I gotta get this up before he is 7 months. Ha.
